Alan Ellen II

5th Degree Black Belt, Chief of Instruction

We have the great honor to have Mr. Ellen at our Academy. He is uniquely suited to serve as our Chief of Instruction with over 25 years of Training and Instructing in the Martial Arts. He began training as a child, grew up in the Martial Arts, trains as an adult and now trains with his daughter Skylar; teaching her the ways of the Martial Arts. He's also very active in Skylar's school activities as a member to the Dad's club. As a result, he has the viewpoint of a child student, adult student, the son of a martial arts black belt and now a dad of a Martial Artist. He is also very active in the Prosper ISD with School Character Talks and Martial Arts Demonstrations. He teaches PE Classes and leads our Virtual Instruction program. He brings these viewpoints, along with the knowledge he has gained from his instructors and mentors, daily as he leads our Academy’s students and instruction team.

Mr Ellen began training in the Martial Arts in August 1984 at age 11 after he and his family watched “The Karate Kid” while on vacation. He and his Dad trained together progressing through the ranks until they both received their First Degree Black Belt in Benton, AR in January 1987. During that time, Mr. Ellen’s little brother also began training and received his Black Belt in 1992.

During that time, family vacations were centered around tournaments all over the United States from Las Vegas to Florida and everywhere in between. Mr. Ellen is VERY competitive having competed in well over 100 tournaments and being ranked #6 Nationally in 1989-90 and #3 in the 1990-91 Tournament seasons. (Recently he was nationally ranked #3 in 2017, #3 in 2018, and won Silver in 2019 UTA National Tournament.)

In 1992, he began training under the instruction of Master Dale Lee Craig with Martial Arts Research Systems learning Tae kwon do, Pressure Point Control Tactics and Weeping Willow Jui jitsu. He later opened an Academy, under Mr. Craig’s leadership, in Conway, AR.

After moving to Texas and once his youngest daughter (Skylar) turned six, they formally began training together. They are both excited to be training under the instruction Grand Master Hudson and his family!

He is grateful for the instruction he has received and the friendships he has made through the years under the leadership of these amazing instructors and Martial Arts pioneers:

  • Mr. Harry Brandon - El Dorado, AR
  • Mr. Bob, Ms. Patricia, and Mr. Bill Remow, - Benton, AR
  • Grand Masters Jason and Farren Wadley - Benton, AR
  • Master Dale Lee Craig - Benton, AR
  • Masters Bob and Wick Blankenship - Conway, AR
  • Grand Master Buddy Hudson - Prosper, TX

Mr. Ellen lives in McKinney, with his wife Yvonne and his younger daughter Skylar. His older Daughter Allison lives in Conway, AR with her Husband Nick and their son Liam!

Mr. Ellen would love the opportunity to teach you as a Martial Arts student and to serve you and your family!
